Like the website that hosts it, this blog is only concerned with using art and brief texts to uncover the bias and other limitations of thought conditioned by memory and tradition, thus also revealing how this largely unacknowledged tribal egotism that affects all human beings creates and sustains the systemic disorder and violence of the world in which we all live.

Without a radical awakening to the immense distance between our mental and social reality and the truth, we are condemned to continue living in the same cruel division, conflict, and sorrow to which we ourselves sustain with our personal memories, thoughts, and desires.

A GLIMPSE of DAVID'S BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA - Photo Essay - 45

I was not present during the last part of the celebration and my photographic coverage of what I did attend was, at best, tendentious and spotty, erratic like a butterfly’s flight. So I owe you, David and your many friends and family apologies for the many omissions. Still, I hope you enjoy what little I managed to capture of that joyful and eventful evening and that those who happened to miss the event can get some sense of it.
The First gallery gives a sense of the splendid lake setting for the party and its prearranged and yet still extraordinary display of gulls at rest and flight.
The Second Gallery is a tiny reflection of the unexpected and more than beautiful visit of a young momma duck and her teenage offspring, whose feeding was duly attended by David and his younger collaborators; an event rarely if ever seen at this kind of events.
The Third Gallery is dedicated to the presence of some of David’s legion of friends and his immediate family. We missed Anya.
The Fourth Gallery shows the B-Day man himself addressing the celebrants and just being his jolly, loving self.

ENJOY! (and contact me if you’d like a print of any of these images, even if it costs you a little dough.) f@unboundart.com
